Created on 1 January 2025, the Alliance Sorbonne University Global Health Institute (ASU-GHI) is the first institute of its kind in France. Its mission is to promote health equity and access to healthcare for all populations through a systemic, transdisciplinary and participatory approach.

Drawing on the complementary expertise of the three faculties of Sorbonne University and its partners — Inserm, CNRS, INSEAD, MNHN, Université de Technologie de Compiègne, and an international network of academic institutions — ASU-GHI mobilises biomedical, human, social, economic and technological sciences to address the major health challenges of the 21st century.

The Institute’s work is structured around four scientific priorities: health and the environment, autonomy and vulnerabilities, cancer, and nutrition. These themes are addressed at the intersection of biomedical humanities, health economics and digital health, from an innovative and integrated perspective.

The ASU-GHI aims to generate knowledge with a strong scientific and societal impact, support cutting-edge training in global health, and contribute to the development of evidence-based and contextualised public policies.
