Organised under the auspices of the Global Health Institute, this event will bring together researchers, clinicians and healthcare professionals to discuss the changes brought about by digital technologies in terms of behaviour, environments and health determinants.
Scientific background
The rapid development of digital technologies and their widespread adoption across all aspects of daily life raise important public health issues. The effects of screen exposure, particularly among young people, are the subject of growing research at the intersection of neuroscience, medicine, social sciences and environmental health.
This day-long event offers a multidisciplinary approach aimed at shedding light on these issues, bringing together scientific data, clinical feedback and perspectives on prevention.
Thematic areas
The presentations will be organised around two main themes:
- Early exposure to screens and brain development, including issues relating to early childhood, attention and learning;
- Digital use during adolescence and its impact on health, covering in particular hormonal, behavioural, physical and psychosocial aspects.
Particular attention will also be paid to the interplay between digital technology, the environment and health, as well as to the risks associated with online use.
Scientific partnership
This event is organised by NeRF – the Francophone Neurology and Environment Network – in line with the work carried out under the ASU-GHI’s “Health and Environment” research axis. It forms part of an initiative aimed at promoting an integrated and interdisciplinary approach to global health issues.
