Autonomy, Ageing and Vulnerabilities

The “Autonomy – Ageing – Vulnerabilities” research axis supports projects aimed at promoting healthy ageing throughout life, preserving people’s capacity to act, and ensuring that no one is left behind during life’s transitions.

2. Autonomy, Ageing and Vulnerabilities

Why the Autonomy – Ageing – Vulnerabilities (AAV) axis?

Ageing well is a major global health challenge: preserving autonomy, quality of life, and social participation throughout the lifespan is essential. This research area explores life trajectories, vulnerabilities, and the resources needed to maintain individuals’ capacity to act.

The ASU-GHI considers this a strategic priority in order to promote environments, practices, and policies that support healthy ageing.
