Cancer

The “Cancer” research axis supports the acceleration of innovation, the improvement of screening, treatment, and quality of life, while placing patients’ experiences at the centre of research.

Why the Cancer axis?

Cancer remains a major cause of mortality and raises critical challenges related to prevention, understanding risk factors, and advancing diagnostic and therapeutic innovation. Because cancer involves biological, environmental, social, and economic determinants, it represents a quintessential global health challenge.

The ASU-GHI includes this research area in order to foster an integrated approach to the causes of cancer, care pathways, and its social impacts.

Head of the research area

Joseph Gligorov

Executive Director of the AP-HP-Sorbonne University Cancer Institute and Professor of Oncology at Sorbonne University
