Career

Muriel Vayssade is a Senior Lecturer in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Sorbonne University, within the Developmental Biology Laboratory (UMR 7622). Her research focuses on the molecular mechanisms involved in embryonic development and cell differentiation, with a particular interest in signaling pathways that control morphogenesis and tissue organization.

Her work is situated in the fields of developmental biology and cell signaling. She studies the interactions between transcription factors, signaling pathways, and gene expression regulation during early developmental stages, combining molecular biology approaches, functional analyses, and experimental models.

She is particularly interested in the regulatory mechanisms underlying fundamental cellular processes such as proliferation, migration, and differentiation, as well as in the alterations of these mechanisms in certain pathological contexts. Her research contributes to a better understanding of the molecular basis of normal development and its dysregulation.

Muriel Vayssade is also involved in teaching activities at Sorbonne University, particularly in cell biology, biochemistry, and developmental biology programs, and supervises research projects at master’s and doctoral levels.
