Health Economics
The “Health Economics” research axis analyses the economic factors that influence people’s health, the organisation of healthcare systems and public policy decisions, with a view to promoting more equitable and sustainable health.
Why the Health Economics axis?
Economic determinants have a profound impact on health: access to care, prevention, innovation, individual behaviour, public policy and the organisation of health systems. Understanding these mechanisms is essential for designing effective interventions and reducing inequalities.
At the ASU-GHI, this research axis draws on economic tools to evaluate health policies, support innovation and inform public decision-making. Working in collaboration with the Institute’s other disciplines, it helps to develop solutions that balance effectiveness, accessibility and societal impact within a global health framework.
