Career
Isabelle Cremer is Professor of Immunology at Sorbonne University and heads the “Inflammation, Complement and Cancer” team at the Cordeliers Research Center. Her work is in the field of cancer immunology, with a particular focus on the organization and regulation of the tumor immune microenvironment and its implications for cancer progression and response to treatment.
Her research focuses on the study of interactions between tumor cells and immune cells, as well as the molecular mechanisms that drive tumor evolution and immune evasion. She is particularly interested in lung and kidney cancers, as well as complex solid tumors, using functional approaches and multi-omics analyses.
She has contributed to several studies demonstrating the role of viral infections, in particular influenza virus, in reprogramming the tumor microenvironment and exacerbating the progression of certain cancers. Her work highlights the links between antiviral immunity and antitumor immunity, as well as their potential impact on the effectiveness of cancer therapies.
As head of the “Inflammation, Complement and Cancer” team, she develops an integrative approach combining immunology, cell biology, spatial analyses, and computational biology tools to identify new biomarkers and therapeutic targets. This work aims to improve the understanding of immune interactions in cancer and contribute to the development of personalized medicine strategies.
She also participates in several national and international collaborative programs in immuno-oncology, with a focus on precision medicine approaches and the study of complex tumor microenvironments.
