Inauguration of the Indo-French Centre for AI in Healthcare at the AIIMS

On 18 February 2026, the Indo-French Centre for AI in Healthcare was officially inaugurated at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), one of Asia's most prestigious medical institutions.

This initiative is jointly led by the AIIMS, Sorbonne University and the Brain Institute, with the support of the highest authorities in both countries. The ceremony was attended by Emmanuel Macron and the Indian Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, as part of the strengthening of the strategic partnership between France and India.

Our Institute for Global Health is a committed partner in this initiative. It helped to define the scientific orientations, the priorities for translational research, and the training and academic cooperation frameworks that will accompany the Centre’s deployment.

Beyond technological innovation, this project aims to bring together research, training, clinical expertise and population impact. By combining France’s scientific ecosystem in neuroscience and digital health with India’s capacity for innovation and demographic scale, the Centre aims to produce robust, ethical solutions that are adapted to a variety of contexts.
