The ASU-GHI Joins the European Global Health Research Institutes Network (EGHRIN)
The ASU-GHI is pleased to announce that it has joined the European Global Health Research Institutes Network, a European network bringing together leading research institutes committed to advancing global health research and innovation.
Established to bring together Europe's leading academic actors in global health, EGHRIN aims to strengthen collaboration among its members and their international partners in order to generate knowledge that supports more equitable and sustainable health systems. The network promotes interdisciplinary approaches to major global health challenges, fosters dialogue between research and policymaking, and helps position global health as a priority within the European research and innovation agenda. Today, EGHRIN brings together more than twenty research institutes from across Europe.
ASU-GHI's membership further strengthens this collective effort and reflects a shared commitment to collaborative, transdisciplinary and impact-oriented research. It will create new opportunities for scientific collaboration, the development of European research projects, the exchange of expertise, and joint initiatives in research, education and engagement with policymakers.
This new membership is also particularly significant in the context of the 4EU+ European University Alliance. Four EGHRIN members are affiliated with universities that are partners of Sorbonne University within 4EU+: the Centre for Multidisciplinary Research in Health Science (MACH) of the University of Milan, the Heidelberg Institute for Global Health (HIGH) of the Heidelberg University, the Institute of Global Health of the University of Geneva, and Charles University in Prague. his shared membership provides an additional opportunity to strengthen the scientific collaborations already underway between 4EU+ partner institutions in addressing today’s major global health challenges.
