Career
David Flacher is Professor of Economics at the Université de technologie de Compiègne and a member of the COSTECH Laboratory, where he conducts interdisciplinary research at the intersection of political economy, digital technologies, and ecological and social transition issues. His work focuses in particular on contemporary transformations of capitalism, global value chains, intellectual monopolies, artificial intelligence, and the socio-economic effects of digital technologies on organizations, labour, and public policy.
A specialist in globalization dynamics and productive transformations, he is also interested in sustainable development models, industrial policies, and governance issues related to environmental and digital transitions. His research adopts a critical and transdisciplinary approach, combining economics, philosophy of technology, and the social sciences.
David Flacher is also Director of the Erasmus Mundus EPOG+ Master’s programme (Economic Policies for the Global Transition), an international programme dedicated to the economic policies of global transitions and supported by the ASU-GHI, as well as co-Director of the Graduate School “Sustainability and Transitions,” which brings together several higher education institutions and research laboratories around issues of sustainability and transition.

Economic POlicies for the Global bifurcation (EPOG-JM) is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in economics, supported by the European Union. It offers a world-class integrated Master’s programme on the (digital, socioeconomic, ecological) transition processes with a pluralist approach and interdisciplinary perspectives. It involves more than 40 partners and associate partners in Europe and the world.
