Mohamed Chetouani is a professor at Sorbonne University within the Institute of Intelligent Systems and Robotics (ISIR), where he conducts research into artificial intelligence, social robotics and human-machine interaction. He takes an interdisciplinary approach at the intersection of computer science, robotics, cognitive science and health sciences.

Throughout his career, he has gained international recognition for his research into social robotics applied to supporting people with neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly autism spectrum disorders. His work draws on artificial intelligence, machine learning, signal processing and behavioural sciences to develop technologies that facilitate assessment, interaction and therapeutic support.

Deeply committed to issues surrounding the ethics of artificial intelligence, Mohamed Chetouani has chaired the Research Ethics Committee at Sorbonne University and is involved in numerous national and international initiatives dedicated to the responsible development of AI technologies.
