Career
Raphaëlle Métras is an Inserm researcher in infectious disease epidemiology at the Pierre Louis Institute of Epidemiology and Public Health (IPLESP). Her research focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying the transmission of infectious agents between animals and humans, combining field epidemiology, spatial analyses, and mathematical modelling.
After earning a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, Raphaëlle Métras specialized in infectious disease epidemiology and public health. She subsequently oriented her research toward the modelling of zoonotic diseases and integrated One Health approaches.
She is the author of numerous scientific publications in the field of zoonotic disease epidemiology, including research on Lyme borreliosis and emerging viral infections.
She was awarded the Simone and Cino Del Duca Prize by the French Academy of Sciences for her work on the modelling of zoonotic diseases and the study of human-animal interactions.
